Forsyth County AuxComm has provided support for a hiking challenge event that the Friends of
Sauratown Mountains puts on in Hanging Rock State Park to raise money for the park. We
typically have approximately 350-400 hikers on a 11-mile course scattered over the park. Again,
the Forsyth County AuxComm group is instrumental in helping us track participants and respond
to hiker/runner needs. With a central command post and numerous radio personnel out on the
course, we can track all our participants and respond to emergencies and hikers needing help.
The Forsyth County AuxComm group is an integral part of our success with this event that
typically raises $12-$14K per year for the park.
I would like to emphasize the importance of the Forsyth County AuxComm group in helping our
non-profits put on fun and safe events that help improve life in our communities. I have worked
with this group over the last 19 years and will continue to work with them in the future.
